Horizons CCCS employs nationally certified consumer credit counselors with the experience, training and knowledge to help you address any situation head-on. We are there for you - in person, by telephone, or on-line.
We know how confusing and frightening it can be to face those collection calls and notices alone. We understand the frustration of not seeing your balance go down because all your money is going to interest and fees. It's a lot to deal with, but you don't have to do it alone. When you participate in our debt management program, we negotiate a repayment plan with your creditors that fits your budget. Then, instead of you making payments to each of your creditors, you make one payment to Horizons CCCS and we disburse the money for you. So that you can get your debts paid off more quickly, some creditors may even agree to reducing the interest rate and waiving late fees and overlimit fees on your credit cards! Our Debt Management programs are voluntary programs that serve the dual role of helping you repay your debts and helping creditors receive the money owed to them.
Horizons CCCS is a HUD approved housing counseling agency. If you are considering purchasing a home, or have already purchased one, our certified housing counselors can provide the information and guidance that will help you make the choices that are right for you. If your circumstances have caused you to become delinquent on your mortgage or rent payments our counselors will work with you and your lender or landlord to develop a solution satisfactory to all parties.
Reverse mortgage counseling by an certified counselor is available to qualified individuals. That is why we offer a wide range of classes and written information that will help you become a better manager of your money and your credit.
HCCCS is approved by the Department of Justice's Executive Office of United States Trustees as a provider of bankruptcy counseling under the bankruptcy reform laws (BAPCPA) enacted in October 2005. As a requirement of filing bankruptcy, debtors must first receive counseling from an approved non-profit agency. This mandatory counseling included information on the bankruptcy process, the consequences of filing, and the alternatives to filing bankruptcy. In addition, an in-depth budget analysis is performed to help clients understand the alternatives that may be available to them.
Additionally, Horizons CCCS has been approved to provide Debtor Education Classes.
